What We Teach
Dance styles at Momentum
From a first ballet class to acro, tumbling and pointe, our instructors teach a full range of styles. Dancers can focus on one or explore several across the season.
-
Ballet/Tap Combo
Half ballet, half tap in one energizing class — perfect for our youngest dancers. They practice following along, remembering combinations and building foundational technique and motor skills, then switch to tap shoes for the second half of class.
-
Mommy & Me
A caregiver-and-child class that nurtures a love of movement, music and dance in our littlest ones. Grown-ups dance right alongside their child, building confidence and preparing them for their first independent class.
-
Hip Hop/Tumble Combo
The best of both worlds — hip-hop footwork, sequencing and musicality taught through games and visuals, paired with tumbling that builds strength, tricks and flexibility.
-
Jazz
A high-energy favorite that builds strength, flexibility and conditioning while dancers master turns, leaps, isolations and expressive choreography.
-
Jumps & Turns
A non-recital technique class focused entirely on strength and stretch — body awareness, stability and muscle length — to sharpen jumps, leaps, turns and tricks across every style.
-
Ballet & Pointe
Structured, technical ballet that develops grace, poise, posture, flexibility, self-discipline and confidence. Pointe work is introduced safely for qualifying dancers once strength and technique are ready.
-
Acro
One of our signatures — coordination, strength, agility and flexibility woven into cartwheels, aerials, tumbling, chest stands, handsprings and more, always taught safely and progressed properly.
-
Contemporary
Expressive floor and center work exploring shape and movement, with room for emotional and creative expression and improvisation.
-
Tap
Fine motor skills in the legs, feet and ankles come alive through rhythm and detail-oriented choreography — dancers learn to make music with their feet.
-
Hip Hop
High-energy movement set to great music, building social dancing, coordination, confidence and musicality in a fun, supportive space.
-
Poms
Sharp arm motions that blend jazz and poms technique with pirouettes, leaps and jumps, all set to upbeat, crowd-pleasing music.
-
PBT (Progressive Ballet Technique)
A method that dissects ballet technique using floor work, balls and resistance bands — excellent for building strength, turnout, foot articulation, flexibility and core control.
